This panel will discuss STEM education and workforce development initiatives and opportunities in Idaho to support the growing technology sector in the state. Panelists are education and industry leaders that work at the intersection of education and workforce development. Panelists represent K-12, higher education, employers, and workforce development programs. Workforce needs will be discussed, as well as, how STEM and computer science education can prepare students to support the state's economy.

About Dr. Kaitlin Maguire

Kaitlin is the Executive Director of the STEM Action Center, a state agency in the Executive Office of the Governor. A former scientist, Kaitlin is passionate about STEM education and workforce development. She works with PreK-12, higher education, non-profit, government, and industry partners across Idaho to provide STEM and computer science learning opportunities to students, educators, and community members. Prior to joining the STEM Action Center, Kaitlin was a statistician and ecological modeler for the U.S. Geological Survey and University of California - Merced. She received her Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley, an M.S. in Geology from Ohio University and her B.S. in Biology from George Washington University. In her free time she enjoys sharing her passion for paleontology and natural history with others.
