Getting to the Root of Gardening Issues: Q&A with an Expert Panel & Jim Duthie of KTVB's "You Can Grow It"

Not only are the experts knowledgeable, but they can also provide valuable insight into the topics discussed at the event. About Jim Duthie

Jim Duthie is a meteorologist with KTVB-TV, Idaho’s News Channel 7, in Boise, Idaho. A native of Arizona, Jim received his degree in Meteorology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Following college, he worked in private forecasting in Salt Lake City, where his responsibilities included daily weather forecasts for ski resorts, power utilities, trucking and railroad transportation, government emergency services, farming concerns, movie and television production companies, and other commercial interests impacted by the weather. Part of his duties also included daily live and recorded weather broadcasts on radio stations throughout the western U.S. and Canada.

Jim held positions as on-air meteorologist at two Salt Lake City television stations. In 1998 he took a position as weather anchor and reporter at KIVI-TV Channel 6, and in 2008 moved to KTVB-TV Channel 7, where he is currently the meteorologist and co-anchor of Wake Up Idaho. An avid gardener, Jim received a Master Gardener certification, and hosts a weekly television feature on gardening topics called “You Can Grow It.” Jim and his wife, Tammy, live in Meridian. They both enjoy traveling, camping and kayaking.
